How to deliver a ‘Celebrity Service’ at your garden centre
Following our highly successful members’ conference in Reading in January (2025), we’re uploading a series of guest speaker ‘takeaway’ blogs.
We’re kicking off with creator and author of ‘Celebrity Service’ and ‘Celebrity Service Superstars’ Geoff Ramm.
Named by Forbes as a ‘Game Changer’, Geoff, who is a world-renowned speaker on customer service, took to our conference stage on the Monday, January 27, of our event.
He spoke about how great customer service can not only lead to lucrative, repeat business, but can also create a lifetime of loyalty and his presentation was a huge hit with our delegates.
Be talked about for decades
So, how can you design a customer experience that has you talked about positively for decades to come?
Here are Geoff’s top tips for you to takeaway for free and use at your garden centre:
- Right now, you are delivering seven/eight out of 10 for customer service at your garden centre…but if a Hollywood A-List celebrity were to walk in, what would you say? What would you do? How would you react? Everything about your service levels would improve! And that’s the gap you never knew existed.
- EXCITEMENT: Spot opportunities to bring excitement into every touchpoint by putting a smile on your customers face – it costs nothing but means the world!
- When you come across a team member delivering great service, pull them to one side and…praise them.
- Dedicate ‘time’ in delivering Celebrity Service at your centre. Have monthly service meetings, no longer than 15 minutes – it will keep you and your team focused on the service experience.
- Have fun. Yes, you read that right, enjoy every interaction and enjoy every moment of helping your customer.
Who has Geoff helped already?
Geoff has challenged and inspired entrepreneurs, high performance teams and organisations across 50 countries to create award-winning ideas to help businesses outperform the competition.
He is trusted by some of the world’s leading brands with their service experience including Emirates, Warner Brothers, Specsavers and McDonalds.
But what did he think of us?
He says: “I absolutely loved working with the GCA at their annual conference at Wokefield. Closing out day one with a room full of the most passionate of business owners, entrepreneurs and leaders was really special. Oh, and the London Underground fancy dress themed evening was a simply amazing! Never in my 23 years of events had I seen an entire audience bring their creativity ‘A game, to a dinner!”
