Wales & West winners receive awards
Members from the Wales & West region are celebrating after scooping awards during a presentation evening at Whitehall Garden Centre – Whitchurch yesterday (Tuesday, July 24, 2018).
The Old Railway Line Garden Centre was named Garden Centre of the Year in the Garden Centre (GC) category and Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre scooped the award in the Destination Garden Centre (DGC) category.
We’d like to say a huge ‘congratulations’ to all of the Wales & West winners. It was great to see so many staff members in attendance at the awards meeting and to see them so invested in the presentation from inspector Roger Crookes. They’ll now be able to take all their notes back with them to their centres and put things into practice.
We’d also like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Whitehall Garden Centre – Whitchurch for being fantastic hosts on the night.
Other awards on the night included the Dick Allen Award for Most Improved centre, which was won by RHS Rosemoor Plant Centre and Shop, the award for Best Customer Service, which was won by The Old Railway Line Garden Centre and Best Outdoor Living Retailer, which was won by Whitehall Garden Centre – Whitchurch (GC) and jointly in the DGC category by Whitehall Garden Centre – Lacock and Cadbury Garden Centre.
The penultimate meeting will take place tonight (Thursday, July 26) at Brookfields, Nottingham followed by the Scotland and Northern Ireland regional awards meeting on Wednesday, August 29 at Simpsons Garden Centre, Inverness.

The ifse Award for Catering Excellence for Best Garden Centre Restaurant: RHS Rosemoor Plant Centre and Shop (GC) and Whitehall Garden Centre – Lacock (DGC)
The GIMA Award for Best Garden Products Retailer: The Old Railway Line Garden Centre (GC) and Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre (DGC)
Best Indoor Lifestyle Retailer: The Old Railway Line Garden Centre (GC) and Cadbury Garden Centre (DGC)
Best Outdoor Living Retailer: Whitehall Garden Centre – Whitchurch (GC) and Whitehall Garden Centre – Lacock (DGC) joint winner with Cadbury Garden Centre (DGC).
